Job description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Chef De Partie at Mercure Hotels, located in Putrajaya.

The Chef De Partie will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes within their specialty.

Daily tasks include ensuring the highest quality and standards of food production, supervising and guiding junior cooks, maintaining health and safety standards within the kitchen, and assisting with the development of new menu items.

Coordination with other kitchen sections and adherence to all hospitality and sanitary guidelines are essential aspects of this role.

Qualifications

  • Experience in culinary arts, food preparation, and menu development
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and sanitation practices
  • Leadership and teamwork skills for guiding and supervising junior staff
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Professional culinary training or a relevant qualification in culinary arts
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or fine dining establishment is an advantage
